Woke early in Pasco Hampton Inn and walked across the lot to Discount Tire. Ordered a new tire and then used their waiting room to call Fox Car Rental while I waited. They had already approved reimbursement of the towing expense and the agent I spoke with said he agreed that they should also pay for the hotel for the night. We hadn't checked out yet so I didn't know the total, told him I'd send later.
Got back to the hotel in time for the free breakfast and then hit the road. Drove through Connell, the home of Jose who had helped us the night before. Saw the hotel & hardware store he'd recommended as the only ones in town, and were glad we'd gone back to Pasco, just because they were very small.
On the road we saw what we thought was a scenic overlook rest area, but it turned out to be the "Scenic Lookout Ski & Recreation Area". We drove around a bit, saw the two ski run chair lifts and took lots of pictures. It was not open for the summer season yet, so the facilities were all locked up.
Drove through the panhandle of Idaho, including Couer d'Alene, which was really beautiful. Stopped at a legit Scenic Overlook and got some great pictures. Also found a stop later that had a Big Lots and a Dollar Tree... bought some sunglasses and a small cooler...
Arrived in Kalispell at the La Quinta Inn about 8pm. We knew we were going to spend 4 nights here so brought in all of our bags. Got a free upgrade to a larger room, which is *fabulous*... huge. Full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, washing machine, sink & microwave. So naturally we went out for pizza. Went to the "Moose Pizza & Saloon" which was... well, a saloon. Sawdust on the floor, dim lighting, country music and all. Ordered the pizza to go, came back to hotel. The pizza was not good, imho. Watch a TV show which I had copied to a thumb drive before we left, then crashed...
